Food Court next to PIDC

November 7, 2007

There is a food court opening next to PIDC office from Saturday, the 10th of November 2007. Today there was it’s unofficial opening, so I with a couple of friends decided try it out.

As we entered there was a huge hallway, on the right there were different counters. They have decided to have separate counters according to food types. Today only the Pakistani food counter was under operation, but from what I have heard there is going to be sandwich, continental, Chinese and drinks stalls as well. Each of these booths will have a menu according to its type, which seems good enough. Today there was chupli kabab, Qorma, palak gosht, daal, naan, and egg gravy. Today the wasn’t that bad, but I am sure as the place gets up and fully running things will become smooth and better.

Let me get one thing clear, this place should not be compared to the food court of FORUM or PARK TOWERS for that matters.

The idea of opening a food court especially near the offices is outstanding. Kudos to the owner for such an excellent initiative. I am sure this place is going to be a gold well for him.

Wired Up!!

September 16, 2007

Attention!! … all you gaming freaks out there I have a little bit of something for you. You will be please to hear that there is a new coffee shop/ Gaming domain in Karachi. Yes its “Wired Up”. At first I thought that it was a normal coffee place where people could bring their laptops and use the wireless internet which some of the coffee shops provide. But this is something totally different.

CS, Xbox360 and nintendo Fans this is a place just for you. Those people who haven’t tried out Nintendo-Wii, you all should go here. A few months back I had just heard about Nintendo Wii being a very cool gaming console required actual movement of the body to play its games, but I experienced it myself and it ROCKED !!! specially tennis!..

These guys also have Xbox360 with quite a bit of game collection. On Wii there are tennis, bowling, boxing and baseball. Other than this if you are a Counter Strike Fan, there is a whole gaming arena for it. Yes its true you feel a bit old when you go to this place since its mostly attracted by the younger generation but its really good to go there have a separate couch for your friends and play a few games and take some steam off. You can order things to drink and eat as well. and for the charges, I think its very reasonable, Rs 100/= for an hour per controller. Unfortunately they don’t have their site up as yet but do check it out, its on Zamzama, next to Chatterbox (the bakery).

Kudos to the owners for thinking of such an innovative entertaining place.!
