Political Juvenility

November 29, 2007

Like I had mentioned in my previous post, that it is a wait and see situation regarding the reactions from the politicians on Mushy handing over his COAS post. Today while going through “The Daily Times” I can’t help but have a hearty laugh on the comments of some of our beloved political leaders and their chumchas(suck ups). Take a look here yourself here. Some of the comments are

“It is good that musharraf has doffed his uniform but that is what we wanted”

“Finally we are successful in making Musharraf taking off his uniform”

And the best one

“No other political leader forced Musharraf to doff his uniform, even after trying for the past many years but when Madam Benazir came she accomplished it in just a month’s time what no one could do”

I also remember the shameful moment when the people of the parliament were to take oath sometime in early 2000, the head of the parliament was telling everyone pick their right hand up and call their names and take the oath and that is what everyone did they picked up their right hand and said “called their names” and started with reading their oath. Such a shameful act literally is embarrassing for us. From where have they educated themselves to be called politicians? Thankfully that event was corrected by the head of the parliament.

Let us wait and see

November 27, 2007

Tomorrow, the 28th of November, 2007, General Pervaiz Musharraf( COAS/President/Chairman of JCSC ) will be keeping his promise. He will be giving up his post of COAS. Let us see how do the politicians especially Sharif, who is apparently not so Sharif, and Benazir react to this decision. They have been crying all this time that mushy should give up his uniform, now that he’ll be giving it up what will they whine about.

It’s been almost two weeks that I haven’t written anything. The reason behind the disappearing act is twofold; I was busy with work and l wanted to be sure about something before I posted it here. Yes so my observation period is over and it really pisses me off to say this but the people who drive cars, are they mother fucking blind or what? Those of you who are lucky sitting in the back seats and relaxing or sleeping your way might not notice this but for those who have to drive my sympathies are with you.

Apparently being a driver in a house is turning out to be another industry itself (may turn into another post in the future) I mean its fucking insane out there. I am pretty sure most of you must be having drivers, hell every other car is being driven by a driver these days. And since these drivers are uneducated their way of driving is insane and I am sorry to say but some of our very own learned office going, educated, people who drive prosmatic Hondas and latest cars, May it be men or women, are fucking imbeciles.

I have taken the liberty to observe our drivers in the past 2 weeks and I would rate our status “POOREST”. I am crying out loud to hell with political issues and emergencies this is a serious matter all together and if this isn’t solved, our people are going to be frustrated and irritated all the time.

Before sunset we have the tendency to go WILD when driving. Overtaking from the wrong side, breaking the signal is like next to nature as if the signal wasn’t there at all. The traffic police are busy talking to each other, and the ones who are working don’t have the manpower to catch the defiant. The other day I was walking to work and on my I had to stand waiting for my turn to walk. There comes a motorcycle next to me, there were 3 guys sitting on it in a very obscene manner. He was also waiting for the traffic police to signal green but instead of waiting patiently he could not get his thumb off the horn. I mean after I reached the office I had developed a full migraine. What was his motive to do such a thing? Is he in his wonderland where his horn would make a way for him to reach his destination faster? Or is he the purest form of a pain in the ass. Fucking cads!!!. Apart from this you all must have noticed that whenever there is jams somewhere, most of us start going the wrong way and creating an even bigger jam.

For you to notice: if you are waiting for the signal to turn green, but before it actually turns green slowly everyone crosses the signal and start to honk their life out as if to pressurize the traffic police to let them go. How many of you are compelled to act similarly just because of sheer unconsciousness? Or are you ok with such an act?

It’s a complete different ball game during the night. Everyone have their lights turned on. The lucky ones have a device in their rear view mirror which blocks the headlights. But some of us are unfortunate and have to deal with this curse. These days driving back from work has become a bitch. The moment I leave for home it is dark and people turn their car lights on, and it’s not been a day when someone right behind me has his headlights on and giving glare at my eyes. I honestly I have no respect and no words to define such retarded fools. I mean, I am not even standing 3 feet from your car and you have your headlights on. Are you fucking blind or what? Another asinine act is when you are driving and the car coming forward would have it’s headlights on and even though you are giving him the indication to lower his light, he just won’t do it. Such idiotic bastards should not be given the license to drive. This is not only done by the illiterate drivers, but also by the educated cream of the city. I don’t know if this is the case in the other sectors of Pakistan but Karachi is full of this kind of shit.

What can one do to cure this? Is this even curable? Even if anyone of us comes up with an idea to eliminate this bullshit act, it won’t be successful because we just don’t want to do anything about it. How many of you would honestly look into your own habits, and truly admit that you do this and if you do would try to change this norm? I guess here our pride and hate for others kicks in and probes us not to lower our dignity but in reality because of this our dignity is already being hampered. There was once a time when I loved to drive around in Karachi, but now it’s becoming a menace, a source of irritancy, but you got to do what you got to do. Sunday mornings is the time I love to drive as there is no one on the street and no headlights. But on a honest and serious note we should do something about this and make people aware of this issue.

Dream On

November 7, 2007

Cringing with fear, he is terrified with the same thought running all over him again and again and again. What is to happen next? Is he going to survive? Do you think his monotony of thought will perish him once and for all? Everything seems so real yet so blurry. The corners of his pupils seem to be hazy as his sight is clear from the center and worn off from the edges.

He tries to look around, move his limbs but apparently finds him self to be in an infinite loop. He always wants to gambol but seems to fall back down on his back. Headaches and drowsiness has taken over his body. He feels like barfing. He closes his eyes and feels as if he is on a never ending rollercoaster ride. Is this a dream or is it reality?

He tries to find someone else but being the protagonist, explains the solitude. The condition allows no form of diversion what so ever from him. He calls out names but turns out to be suffering from hematemesis suddenly. His body shivers and quivers and his body parts collapsing with fear. He can’t breath! His lungs grasp for air. He needs oxygen. Where to run, where to look for it? he can’t moveeee… blank……long beep……

His friends and family find him in bed, lying there motionless. All pale and white like a ghost. They run to check his pulse but its too late. He has left them, for the unknown. If Only in other circumstances…

Food Court next to PIDC

November 7, 2007

There is a food court opening next to PIDC office from Saturday, the 10th of November 2007. Today there was it’s unofficial opening, so I with a couple of friends decided try it out.

As we entered there was a huge hallway, on the right there were different counters. They have decided to have separate counters according to food types. Today only the Pakistani food counter was under operation, but from what I have heard there is going to be sandwich, continental, Chinese and drinks stalls as well. Each of these booths will have a menu according to its type, which seems good enough. Today there was chupli kabab, Qorma, palak gosht, daal, naan, and egg gravy. Today the wasn’t that bad, but I am sure as the place gets up and fully running things will become smooth and better.

Let me get one thing clear, this place should not be compared to the food court of FORUM or PARK TOWERS for that matters.

The idea of opening a food court especially near the offices is outstanding. Kudos to the owner for such an excellent initiative. I am sure this place is going to be a gold well for him.
